This is another type of transfer car I am working on. This one, in particular, isn't self-powered.
The car is modeled after one that the late Dean Freytag built. I built 2 of these cars from ore car shells from Roundhouse. One was built using smooth sided cars and the other was built using a car with ribs. It took 2 shells per car. Beside the ore car bodies, the rest of the car was scratch built using plastic parts. The handrails and piping were made from .015 K&S wire. Steps are from Plastruct ladders with some of the rings cut off. Hopper bays are from Roundhouse 70 ton 3 bay hoppers.
