Not posted much in a while and not did much work on the layout. I do want to post a few new pictures from around the layout. Enjoy.

Diesel Shops and Turntable Part 7

I add a 6" x 4' section onto the area in front of the roundhouse so I was able to add 3 extra stalls to the roundhouse and 9 outside tracks. Next is to added details.

Got the ballasting done and the backdrop repainted around the diesel shop. and the ballasting around the roundhouse done. Now for some foliage an detail parts around both places.

One thing about modeling is don't be afraid to change thing around. After looking at the turntable and the track arrangement for a week or so I just wasn't satisfied with how it looked. I wanted a roundhouse but didn't have the room. I thought about cutting a corner off but then again I didn't want to do that, so I added a small section to the layout coming out in the aisle. Adding this section left me to get a 3 stall roundhouse back on the layout. I also started on the false front of the diesel shop. I had a Bachmann 2 stall engine house that I had not used and didn't plan on using anywhere at the time.

Got some of the old scenery removed, some tracks laid and sanding rack started. Using a Bachmann Sanding rack. I have always like how this kit looked and finally have a spot for it.

I had to remove a section of the layout for the doorway to the workshop. In doing this I had to take off my 3 stall roundhouse. Replacing round house I am thinking about a 2 stall engine house as the replacement for it. Also since I didn't need the incline on the layout anymore. I going to add a diesel shop coming off the switch that was going to the incline.

Interchange Yard Part 1

Yard tower, crew room and parking lot.

Locomotive service facility. The facility still serves steam and diesel locomotives. D&D Steel still uses steam locomotive in parts of its operations, but as these locomotives have major breakdowns, they are being replaced with diesels.

The small area under the stationary crane is where KV&O built their cars, until a building for building new cars was built. Now it is used to unload part and supplies. Rumor is the stationary crane will be torn down and a new over head traveling crane will be built.

Locomotive and cars shops. Here Locomotives are rebuilt and new cars are build or repaired. Looks like beside the shops a German BR52 locomotive has arrived. This will be rebuild and ran on the KV&O

Shot from the top of the coaling tower. On the right the yard tower crew room the walkway leads to the scale house and pass that is the locomotive and cars shops
